Description: Terra Systems was founded in 1992 and holds 1st United States Patent for use of emulsified vegetable oil substrate, lactate and nutrients for in-situ bioremediation of chlorinated solvents in groundwater. Since then, using our core competencies in research & development, in-house manufacturing and unsurpassed pre- and post-sales technical support, we have expanded our family of bioremediation products to offer our clients site specific remediation products. Recently expanded our portfolio to include activated sodium & potassium persulfate. Our team of innovative scientists and engineers evaluate and make recommendations for many complex sites that could benefit from a combination of ISCO-bio processes such as activated persulfate chemical oxidation for source areas and hot spots, coupled with enhanced bioremediation for the diffuse plume. These products can be utilized in a technology treatment train approach for the broadest solutions for today’s challenging aquifer conditions. Terra Systems scientists pioneered enhanced in situ bioremediation technology starting with aerobic bioremediation in the 1970’s when Richard Raymond, Sr. received the first patent for in-situ bioremediation of petroleum hydrocarbon (issued in 1974) at the Sun Oil Company Ambler, PA site. He is acknowledged by US EPA as the “grandfather of in-situ bioremediation”. Mr. Raymond received numerous awards for his research including Society of Industrial Microbiologists' "Charles Porter Award" and the 2016 AEHS Lifetime Achievement Award for his pioneering in-situ bioremediation research.
