Cameron LNG Our Cameron LNG joint-venture facility in Louisiana features three liquefaction trains capable of exporting 12 Mtpa. The first train began producing LNG in 2019. The second and third trains are expected to begin producing LNG in 2020. Cameron LNG has received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to add two additional liquefaction trains and up to two additional full containment LNG storage tanks. Phase 2 is expected to increase the project’s export capacity by 8 Mtpa. Port Arthur LNG Sempra LNG is developing the Port Arthur LNG export project in Southeast Texas. With direct access to the Gulf of Mexico, the proposed facility would include two natural gas liquefaction trains to enable the export of approximately 11 Mtpa, as well as new natural gas pipelines to supply the terminal. Further, Sempra LNG has initiated the FERC pre-filing review process for an expansion of the project, which contemplates the addition of two liquefaction trains for a total export capacity of approximately 22 Mtpa. Energia Costa Azul Sempra LNG and IEnova, Sempra Energy’s subsidiary in Mexico, plan to add liquefaction capabilities to the Energia Costa Azul (ECA) regasification terminal in Baja California, Mexico. Phase 1 will have an initial export capacity of approximately 2.4 Mtpa. The project’s Phase 2 is expected to produce approximately 12 Mtpa of LNG. The ECA liquefaction project will help meet future demand for LNG and provide the worldwide market with access to a reliable source of North American natural gas directly from the Pacific Coast.
