Description: At California Health Sciences University (CHSU), our mission is to improve the health care outcomes of people living in the Central Valley by educating the next generation of highly trained and compassionate health care professionals in this region. Founded in 2012, CHSU is the first university of its kind in the Central Valley and offers a local option for those seeking medical education, through our Doctor of Pharmacy and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine programs. CHSU is dedicated to help remedy the shortage of health care services offered in the Valley and plans to open up to 8 additional health sciences colleges in the coming years. Located in Clovis, in California's diverse and agriculturally rich Central Valley, students and faculty can enjoy the unique combination of high quality of life, affordable cost of living and plentiful career opportunities the Valley provides. With state-of-the-art facilities, pharmacy and medical students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through interactive simulation and cutting-edge technology. The CHSU Simulation Center, located within the College of Osteopathic Medicine building, boasts 20,000 square feet of lab space, simulating the hospital environment and out-patient doctor’s offices. Students also have access to the on-campus Teaching Kitchen to further develop their knowledge in nutrition and health. CHSU utilizes the Microsoft HoloLens technology for virtual anatomy.
