Description: Numenta’s mission is to be a leader in the new era of machine intelligence. We believe the brain is the best example of an intelligent system, providing a roadmap for building intelligent machines. Our deep experience in theoretical neuroscience research has led to tremendous discoveries on how the brain works. We have developed a framework called the Thousand Brains Theory of Intelligence and HTM technology that will be fundamental to advancing the state of artificial intelligence and machine learning. By applying this framework to existing deep learning systems, we are addressing today’s bottlenecks while enabling tomorrow’s applications. We put our research and software implementations into open source and invite others to join our community at discourse.numenta.org. Numenta’s licensing and intellectual property (IP) strategy is to create an active research community and build a foundation for future intelligent applications. We have a growing list of more than 40 U.S. and international patents that we believe will be critical for machine intelligence, which could be found on our website.
